Our Story
Welcome in our farm, Azienda Agricola Tomisa
We founded Tomisa in 1997, starting by working the fields that surround our house in Castel De’ Britti, a little fraction of San Lazzaro di Savena, on the first hills in the suburbs south of Bologna. For many years we grew the grapes following the conventional method, but, being inside the regional protected area Parco dei Gessi e dei Calanchi dell’Abbadessa, we found ourselves more and more close to the organic production, in order to respect the territory in which the farm is.
Our land covers a surface of 55 hectares, 15 of which is vineyard, framed and protected by woods and “calanchi” (= ravines). We have been producing typical organic wines, certified by Icea, of the area “Colli Bolognesi” for more than 10 years: still and sparkling Grechetto Gentile, Chardonnay, Barbera, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. All our wines are produced without blending grapes, exclusively from our own grapes. In 2012, we also started converting the marcs in a completely natural cosmetic line.
